Job summary

Optimal Care is seeking a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse to deliver overnight skilled nursing and emotional support. You will work a consistent 7-on / 7-off night rotation (5pm–8am) with no on-call requirements, starting from home, and coordinate with physicians and the hospice team to ensure comfort and dignity at end of life.

This role suits an experienced RN who can make real-time clinical decisions, manage urgent symptoms, and support families during challenging hours while maintaining

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
• Current State License as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and valid automobile insurance
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• BSN preferred
• Hospice or home health experience preferred
• Previous after-hours or on-call experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide hospice care overnight and offer emotional support to patients and families
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms during night shifts
• Work independently while coordinating with physicians and hospice team
• Ensure continuity of care throughout the night and maintain patient comfort
