Job summary

Barnes Foundation seeks a Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist to support front-line operations with visual surveillance and access control, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for visitors and staff. You will engage guests, enforce rules, and protect the art collection while representing the Foundation’s standards.

The role requires strong communication, vigilance, and a calm, organized approach to busy periods, weekends and holidays, with the ability to work 11 pm–7 am, five days

Qualifications

• Two to three years in security or protection services, customer/guest services, hospitality, or event management.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pleasant demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with good observational and reasoning abilities.
• Able to multi-task and process detailed information.
• Calm presence during busy or stressful times.
• Proficient with digital tools including security devices and access control systems.
• Knowledge or interest in art; bilingual/multilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the building and grounds are welcoming and safe for visitors and guests.
• Oversee safety and protection of the Foundation’s art collection and property by enforcing rules and policies.
• Monitor building and collection using video, security, and access control systems; manage entry/exit; monitor service yard and loading dock when assigned.
• Provide superior customer service as a concierge, guiding guests and staff on policies both in front and back of house.
• Engage guests with information about the Foundation’s history, collection, programs, and amenities; coordinate coat check and visitation collateral.
• Manage VIP processes to ensure exceptional experiences for special guests.
