Job summary

Forward Air in Linden, AL is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight in a multimodal terminal. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts, scan cargo with handheld devices, and ensure accurate documentation while supporting the dock team.

The role requires 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience, a valid forklift certification, and strong English communication. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7pm–3am, onsite, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read labels, barcodes, and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld scanners and systems.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock environment.
• Support dock productivity and overall operational goals.
• Work nights as scheduled (including weekends/holidays) and overtime as needed.
