Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, scan, and move freight in a multimodal terminal or warehouse setting. This role supports productivity and freight integrity while mentoring newer Material Handlers on the floor.

Responsibilities include operating various MHE, maintaining accurate documentation, and complying with OSHA and PPE standards. The position requires certification or the ability to obtain it, with onsite evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification/licensure or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read numbers, labels, barcodes, freight markings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following dock/safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
