Job summary

Forward Air in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight within a multimodal terminal. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, scan and document cargo, and support dock productivity in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a valid forklift certification, at least 3 years dock/warehouse experience, ability to communicate in English, and the stamina for 8–12 hour shifts including nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification required.
• 3+ years dock/warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
