Job summary

Southern Container, Inc. in Winchester, VA is seeking a Material Handling and Production Support professional to safely operate forklifts, stage materials, and move goods between production and warehouse areas.

The role includes ensuring accurate inventory, loading/unloading trailers, and supporting ongoing production workflows. The position requires 18+ years, a high school diploma or GED, and successful completion of powered industrial truck training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education; powered industrial truck training and certification required prior to independent operation.
• Ability to safely operate powered industrial trucks in a manufacturing/warehouse setting after training and to perform pre-shift inspections.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other authorized material-handling equipment.
• Supply pallets, top frames, tier sheets, packaging materials, and other production materials.
• Transport finished goods from production areas to warehouse storage locations.
• Stage materials for production and shipping activities.
• Deliver preforms, resin, packaging materials, and other supplies to designated production areas.
• Load and unload trailers in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure proper placement and storage of inventory using warehouse and inventory-control systems.
• Build and handle dunnage and reusable packaging materials.
