Job summary

Southern Container, Inc. in Winchester, VA is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to safely move bottles, raw materials, and finished goods across the plant and warehouse.

This role supports production flow, inventory accuracy, and shipping, requires extended shifts, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Prior forklift experience and the ability to pass required training are preferred. The job also requires standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to safely operate powered industrial trucks after training.
• Ability to perform pre-shift inspections and document findings.
• Strong math skills for inventory and shipping records.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Transport materials to storage and production areas.
• Verify labeling and load accuracy prior to shipment.
• Complete shipping documentation and cycle counts as needed.
• Report unsafe conditions and equipment concerns immediately.
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives.
