Job summary

The City of Billings is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Support I to perform routine cleaning and sanitation of public buildings and surrounding areas. Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, offices, and public spaces, with some light maintenance tasks and waste/recycling handling.

Responsibilities also cover inventory of janitorial supplies, safe handling of cleaning chemicals, and assisting with building security and emergency procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to answer basic questions in a courteous manner.
• Valid Montana driver’s license or obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a Federal fingerprint-based background check.
• Must read, write, interpret instructions and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning and sanitation of facilities and grounds.
• Operates cleaning equipment and maintains supplies.
• Inspects for safety concerns and reports them to supervision.
• May assist with security measures and participate in emergency plans.
