Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an EVS Tech Lead for the night shift (10:30pm–7:00am). The role leads Environmental Services staff, trains and motivates team members, and backs up the EVS Supervisor as needed.

The position emphasizes high-quality cleaning, infection control, and collaboration with patients and hospital staff. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least three years EVS or supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or a minimum of 5 years work experience in a hospital in lieu of the diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three years of EVS experience or experience working in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of housekeeping techniques in a healthcare environment with specific emphasis on floor care maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assists Manager in maintaining a high-quality standard by informing on the condition of assigned areas and by training, supervising and motivating EVS personnel.
• Serve as backup to the EVS Supervisor in the Supervisor's absence.
• Lead responsibilities include monitoring area workloads, schedules and motivating staff to follow the work plans.
• Ensure infection control procedures are followed and communicate any equipment issues to supervision.
• Maintain good public relations with patients, facility and staff; document completed tasks and unusual occurrences as needed.
