Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Environmental Services professional (OR Tech) to support daily cleaning and room turnover on the second shift, starting at 3pm, with weekend and holiday coverage as required. You will follow infection control guidelines, stock supplies, and maintain equipment to ensure patient-ready environments.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and confidentiality of patient information while coordinating with nurses and other staff to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or at least 1 year of environmental services, housekeeping, janitorial or related experience.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication with patients, visitors and staff.
• Ability to use department tracking/communication tools.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily in-between case cleaning for assigned rooms.
• Performs daily terminal cleaning for assigned rooms.
• Follows infection control and isolation guidelines.
• Maintains safe work practices and uses PPE appropriately.
• Communicates issues to supervisor and coordinates with team to ensure readiness of rooms.
