Qualifications

• 1–2 years of environmental service work experience in healthcare or similar setting.
• Knowledge of operating industrial cleaning equipment and healthcare cleaning techniques.
• Basic math skills and ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to multi-task, handle interruptions, and maintain infection control practices.
• Leadership potential; may train other associates and model good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Respond to cleaning service requests via tracking systems; perform cleaning and equipment handling as assigned.
• Perform specialty cleaning and infection control in clinical areas and sterile zones.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report repairs; log usage appropriately.
• Assess conditions to keep facility neat, safe and orderly; escalate issues to supervisor as needed.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to less experienced staff.
• Perform scheduled floor care procedures: dust mopping, mopping, stripping, burnishing, carpet extraction.
• Coordinate with internal and external customers; communicate status of repairs and cleaning tasks.
