Job summary

Banner Health's Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to perform heavy cleaning, floor care, and related duties in a fast-paced hospital setting.

This evening shift position requires weekend work and holidays; you will operate cleaning equipment, maintain infection control standards, and provide courteous service to staff and patients. Weekend differential of $1/hour and 18% night differential where applicable.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of environmental service work in healthcare or institutional setting.
• Ability to operate typical industrial cleaning equipment for healthcare.
• Basic math skills for tasks and inventory.
• Effective oral and written communication to give instructions.
• Ability to multi-task and work with changing priorities.
• Commitment to customer service, safety, and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Respond to cleaning requests; perform removal, cleaning, and housekeeping tasks.
• Carry out specialized cleaning and infection control in clinical areas and sterile rooms.
• Maintain equipment and report repairs; log usage and inspections.
• Assess and maintain a neat, safe, and orderly environment; communicate status to supervisors.
• Provide leadership and on-the-job training for staff on cleaning techniques and hygiene.
• Perform scheduled floor care: mopping, stripping, refinishing, burnishing, carpet extraction.
