Job summary

Henry Street Settlement in New York City seeks a Shift Supervisor to oversee the Third Street Women’s Residence on evenings, nights, and weekends. Responsibilities include supervision, client intake and assessments, service planning, safety, reporting, and collaboration with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or at least three years in human services.
• Flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed.
• Crisis intervention experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Strong computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Train, coaching, and conduct performance evaluations for assigned staff.
• Provide guidance to ensure staff follow policies and Henry Street values.
• Interview prospective residents and complete intake documentation.
• Conduct client assessments and document changes in condition or service needs.
• Develop practical service plans to support stability and housing goals.
• Provide crisis intervention and appropriate support during emergencies.
• Maintain safety and security within the residence and conduct fire drills.
• Maintain accurate client records and program documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports; document incidents and follow up.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and internal/external partners.
• Maintain meal sign-in logs, track expenditures, and support staff as needed.
