Job summary

Henry Street Settlement is seeking a Per Diem Shift Supervisor for the Third Street Women’s Residence on the Lower East Side. The role oversees staff, conducts intake assessments, coordinates services, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance during evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.

The position requires crisis-management skills, strong documentation, and a willingness to cover varied shifts. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; CPR/First Aid and Fire Safety certifications must be

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or minimum three years in human services or related field.
• Flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed for staff callouts or no-shows.
• Certifications (CPR/First Aid; Fire Safety Director) within first three months.
• Experience providing crisis intervention and supporting residents in housing programs.
• Strong computer proficiency and excellent documentation abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned staff, provide coaching and evaluations.
• Interview residents, complete intake and assess service needs.
• Develop plans to support resident stability and housing goals.
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency support.
• Maintain safety, conduct drills, and ensure OTDA/compliance.
• Prepare reports and maintain official records; collaborate with teams.
