Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support the Spent Fuel Handling Recapitalization Project (SFHP) at Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls. The role is a year-round night shift, typically 1800–0400, with about 75% field oversight to ensure environmental procedures are followed during construction.

You will work with subcontractors across construction, engineering, and safety, identify and correct deficiencies, oversee spill response and waste streams, and coach

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or 3 to 5 years relevant experience in construction.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• USA citizenship is required (no dual‑citizenship).
• Technical writing skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversight of subcontractors to ensure SFHP environmental procedures are implemented during construction.
• Perform environmental inspections, audits, and field oversight of construction activities.
• Spend ~75% of time in the field performing oversight and ensuring environmental compliance.
• Identify, report, and correct deficiencies and ensure compliance with SFHP environmental procedures.
• Oversee spill response, wildlife observations, secondary containment, and waste streams.
• Coach craft on environmental compliance as work is planned.
