Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Safety Specialist in Idaho Falls, ID, reporting to the Project Safety Manager. You will support site safety plans, enforce contract safety expectations, and provide resources to correct and maintain solutions.

Night shifts may be required. This role emphasizes collaboration with field teams, incident investigations, and training to uphold Kiewit's safety standards across nuclear projects in North America.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements in nuclear/DOE settings.
• Experience with safety programs, audits, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to enforce policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations in the field.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA and client requirements.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and incident records.
• Support first aid and coordinate with EMS and clinics.
• Review and verify work plans and safety compliance.
