Job summary

Memorial Health in Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a patient care technician for full-time night shifts, including every 3rd weekend. You will assist in patient care under supervision, take vital signs, and collect samples while adhering to hospital policies.

Eligible candidates include CNAs, nursing students with clinical experience, Medical Assistants, EMTs, or health sciences students. CPR certification is required, and prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA or enrollment in nursing school with one clinical semester completed.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or EMT certification.
• Enrolled in a health sciences bachelor's program (pre-med/biology/chemistry).
• Completion of 6 months as patient safety monitor within the ED.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of patient care under supervision.
• Obtain vital signs and collect blood, stool, urine and other samples.
• Follow department and Memorial Medical Center policies and procedures.
• Maintain legible, accurate documentation.
