Albany Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for the Pediatric ED in night shift. You will assist nurses and physicians, perform tests, draw blood, monitor vital signs, and help with patient transport and wound care in a fast-paced trauma center.

Minimum High School diploma and 6–12 months ED tech or EMS experience preferred; strong communication, reliability, and teamwork are essential to deliver safe, compassionate care to acutely ill patients in the Capital District.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year ED Technician or EMS experience preferred.
• Must communicate effectively with patients, families, staff and others.

Responsabilités

• Assist with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures
• Perform venipuncture to obtain blood specimens
• Assist physicians and nurses with technical support for patient care
• Report patient condition to supervisor/staff
• Assist with transport of patients to other departments
• Obtain and document vital signs; monitor cardiac and non-invasive BP systems
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs; manage IVs and lines
• Assist with wound care, Foley catheter insertions, and NG tubes
• Assist with positioning patients and applying splints/dressings
• Measure and fit crutches and assist with mobility
