Job summary

Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY is seeking an ED Technician for the Adult ED on a 24-hour-night schedule. You will support nurses and physicians, assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, and help manage acutely ill or unstable patients in a Level One trauma environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 6–12 months of ED tech or EMS experience; strong communication, reliability, and ethical conduct are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1-year previous experience as an ED Technician and/or EMS is desired.
• Honest, punctual, and adherent to high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures.
• Perform venipuncture to obtain blood specimens.
• Provide technical support for patient care alongside physicians and nurses.
• Report patient condition to supervisor/staff member.
• Assist with transporting patients to other departments.
• Record vital signs, monitor cardiac activity and non-invasive BP equipment.
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs, manage IVs and line care.
• Assist with wound care, Foley catheters, and NG tubes.
• Position patients, apply splints and dressings, and instruct on crutch use.
