Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join the night shift team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. This on-site role supports physicians, advanced practitioners, and nurses in delivering emergency and minor care, with responsibilities performed under supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and EMT-B or equivalent certification options; BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-B certification or military hospital corps/MMAC training preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, PT) acceptable if in at least one semester.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, Advanced Practitioners, or Nurses in implementing care plans.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Complete de-escalation and safety training within 15 days of hire; obtain BLS within 90 days.
