Job summary

The Emergency Department Assistant – MMC BID SAN role supports the Registered Nurse and ED physician by carrying out patient care activities and ensuring a smooth flow of administrative tasks from admission through discharge.

Responsibilities include assisting with clinical tasks, coordinating with care teams, and handling clerical duties to maintain efficient ED operations. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS certification, with healthcare knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Healthcare experience or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurse and/or Emergency Department physician with patient care activities.
• Maintain efficient flow of administrative, secretarial, and clerical tasks from admission through discharge or inpatient admission.
• Support patient throughput and documentation in a fast-paced ED environment.
