Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is hiring a Forklift Operator in Linden, NJ. You will load, unload, stage, and move freight in a busy multimodal terminal, following established procedures and safety standards.

As an experienced operator, you will mentor others on the floor, assist with documentation, and maintain accurate freight records using handheld scanners. The position requires flexibility to work nights and weekends and to handle heavy lifting in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience.
• Ability to read labels, barcodes, and freight markings accurately.
• Must communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Scan and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and follow PPE requirements.
