Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking an Assistant Dock Manager to support day-to-day dock and salvage operations. This role involves supervising dock staff, coordinating salvage activities, and ensuring safe handling of donated goods to maximize profitability for mission services funding.

The position requires forklift certification, basic computer skills, and at least six months in a supervisory role, preferably in a warehouse or salvage setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be forklift-certified or able to obtain certification.
• Basic computer skills required for reporting and scheduling.
• Experience in warehouse or salvage operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising dock and salvage team to meet production and safety standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to optimize salvage processes and profitability.
• Ensure safe handling of goods and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain inventory control and accurate delivery/receiving records.
• Train associates on proper procedures and use of equipment.
• Support training and development through GWH programs.
