McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to manage driver dispatch operations in the Transportation Department. The role involves preparing records, updating schedules, verifying safety compliance, and communicating with customers and drivers on variances in delivery times.

The position requires a High School Diploma and experience with PeopleSoft or similar scheduling tools, plus proficiency in Windows tools. Training and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with PeopleSoft for driver scheduling preferred.
• Experience with Windows, Excel, Word, and Access required.
• Two years in a similar dispatch role preferred.
• Ability to read maps and understand distribution systems.
• Strong communication across levels and departments.
• Mathematical ability for scheduling accuracy.
• Understanding of dispatch processes and safety requirements.
• Proficiency in reading/writing English for task execution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily records and memos; maintain Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports filing.
• Process transportation pouches with route manifests, invoices, notices, maps and keys.
• Develop and update daily driver/ helper dispatch schedules.
• Ensure DOT hours-of-service compliance for drivers.
• Set daily tractor/trailer assignments for drivers.
• Verify roadworthiness; maintain tractor/trailer maintenance records.
• Call customers about variances in delivery times.
• Expedite driver manifests; highlight critical keys.
• Provide timely reports to supervisor as requested.
• Discuss dispatch issues with Driver Specialists, customers and managers.
• Meet physical demands of the role; perform other duties as needed.
