Job summary

Ruan in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to manage the timely pickup and delivery of customer orders, ensuring efficient use of drivers and equipment and strict adherence to DOT rules.

You will direct and schedule drivers, monitor performance, resolve daily service and scheduling issues, communicate with customers, and update dispatch data in near real time. This full-time onsite role follows a 4 days on, 4 days off schedule, with hours 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of transportation, dispatching, terminal assistant, or related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required.
• Strong working knowledge of dispatch systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely pickup and delivery of customer orders within assigned area while maintaining customer expectations.
• Direct and schedule drivers' work and notify assignments to ensure on-time movement of goods.
• Identify and resolve daily service and scheduling issues; communicate with customers on issues impacting service.
• Monitor drivers' hours of service to prevent DOT violations.
• Maintain timely and professional communication with customer contacts on issues impacting service.
• Prepare and process data and paperwork; update driver and dispatch information in dispatch system in real time.
• Promote safety in all areas of dispatch.
