Job summary

National Retail Transportation in Perth Amboy, NJ, seeks a Dispatcher for the 3rd shift to coordinate freight, drivers, and schedules while ensuring compliance with DOT requirements and on-time deliveries.

You will monitor driver performance, coach when needed, and manage ELD/On-Board devices within the AS400 system, collaborating with the terminal manager to align labor plans with customer needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of dispatch experience or related logistics role.
• Solid understanding of transportation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proven leadership and driver performance management skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage drivers to meet company performance standards, ensuring adherence to rules and regulations.
• Actively monitor driver activities, providing coaching and disciplinary action as necessary.
• Evaluate and motivate driver performance, setting clear benchmarks for success.
• Review and approve pre-planned routes for efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with terminal manager and local operations to determine labor plans.
• Communicate daily assignments and expectations to drivers, including start times and job requirements.
