Job summary

McLane Company, Inc is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to manage driver dispatch operations in the Transportation Department. The role involves preparing records, updating driver schedules, ensuring DOT hours-of-service compliance, and maintaining equipment maintenance records.

Strong communication and English literacy are required, with 2 years in a similar role preferred and a bias toward safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Experience with PeopleSoft for driver/crew scheduling preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word and Access.
• 2 years in a similar dispatch role preferred.
• Map reading and distribution systems understanding beneficial.
• Good communication and English literacy essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily records and filing for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Process transportation pouches including manifests, invoices, notifications, maps and keys.
• Develop and update daily dispatcher schedules for drivers and helpers.
• Ensure DOT hours-of-service compliance.
• Assign daily tractor/trailer resources to drivers.
• Maintain maintenance records for tractors and trailers.
• Call customers about delivery time variances.
• Provide timely reports to supervisor on request.
