Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience on a full-time night shift. You will perform CT exams, ensure diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation dose, and work within a collaborative radiology team.

The role requires ARRT certifications (R and CT), BLS, a radiologic technology program, and at least 1 year of radiology experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
• ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography) certification.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and use technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality with ALARA principles.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, screen for contraindications, verify orders, and ensure two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and minimize patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability, repeat or adjust as needed, and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate documentation and finalize studies in RIS/PACS, including transfers and prior exam retrieval.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with restocking crash cart and life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department flow.
