Job summary

Green Circle Growers in Oberlin, OH is seeking a Cross Dock Lead to oversee daily dock operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe handling of shipments. You will manage a crew, guide staff on work orders, manifests, and packing, and serve as the main link between dock, warehouse, and transportation teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating outbound/inbound shipments, supervising loading, equipment use, and maintaining OSHA-compliant safety and organized work areas. Shift: Thu–Mon.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant experience required.
• 2-3+ years of warehouse, cross-dock, logistics, or freight handling experience required.
• 1-2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic computer literacy or ability to learn scanning and warehouse systems.
• Experience operating a tow motor and other material handling equipment.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to read and speak English.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as required by business volume.
• Must be at 18 years old and able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workflow for the assigned area and manage resources.
• Lead and coordinate a team of shipping and receiving members.
• Guidance on how to read and fulfill work orders, shipping manifests, and purchase orders.
• Train and motivate employees, provide feedback on performance.
• Oversee daily shipping activities including order picking, packing, staging, and loading.
• Unload and load trucks manually or with equipment.
• Receive goods into the system against PO and verify quantities and quality.
• Sort, label, scan, and store inbound shipments properly.
• Report discrepancies and support corrective action.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and in compliance with procedures.
• Load outbound trucks in sequence to meet OTIF goals.
• Collaborate with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse teams to move freight.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area according to OSHA standards.
