Job summary

UNC Medical Center Heart and Vascular Progressive Care Unit is hiring a full-time Clinical Support Tech I for night shifts. The role supports care delivery, transports patients and equipment, and maintains unit clerical functions in an 18-bed unit with intermediate acuity patients in Chapel Hill, NC.

Responsibilities include assisting clinicians, documenting patient changes, handling orders, and providing direct patient care under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina DHHS is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine exams and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report changes to RN or physician.
• Provide clerical duties including data entry, orders review, and maintaining medical records; perform PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support such as cleaning, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, linen changes, supply stocking, and orientation of new staff.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care activities including bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, vital signs, and specimen collection as needed.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials as requested.
