Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Clinical Support Technician II to assist professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transport patients and equipment, and maintain patient rooms and unit desk functions.

The role includes performing clinical tasks using sterile techniques, monitoring infusion, coordinating unit communications, and handling supply inventory and data entry. Onsite, 40 hours/week in Chapel Hill, NC.

Qualifications

• Requires one year of clerical or customer service experience.
• Fluent in ver?bal and written English.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review orders, transcribe orders, maintain medical records, and conduct quality audits.
• Provide administrative support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support such as cleaning work area, maintain equipment, troubleshoot software/hardware, transport patients and supplies, orient new staff and students.
• Assist with direct patient care per plan of care activities, measure vital signs, and perform basic procedures as outlined (e.g., wound care, catheter care, feeding).
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials.
