Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL seeks a Clinical Nursing Supervisor for the Float Pool, nights, 7p–7a, full-time. You will support departmental administration, coordinate orientation and staff training, and collaborate with the unit Director to ensure efficient operations and quality patient care.

The role requires an active RN license, BSN preferred, and current BLS/ACLS with PALS/ENPC within specified timelines; TNCC and CEN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification required; maintain current.
• ACLS certification required; maintain current.
• PALS and/or ENPC certification required within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• TNCC certification preferred within 12 months of hire; CEN within 2 years preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; ED setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight for department service functions and collaborate with the unit Director/Manager.
• Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate department orientation and training for personnel.
• Communicate with staff, physicians, and administration in writing and verbally.
• Ensure quality of staff and functions during the shift; supervise and evaluate personnel.
• Assist Department Director with daily unit operations, directing staff and ensuring efficient department function.
• Perform direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice.
• Assess patient care and direct staff to modify plans as needed.
