Job summary

Gordon Food Service is seeking a CDL-A Transit Driver with a Doubles endorsement to operate night routes from Durham distribution centers. You will transport loaded and empty trailers, either singles or doubles, and work night shifts to be home daily.

A clean DOT record and the ability to pass mandatory drug tests are required. The role involves safe operation of tractors and trailers, use of onboard computers and scanners, and coordination with dispatch for timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CDL-A license with T (Doubles) endorsement required at hire.
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience with Class A license.
• Ability to pass drug test and background check.
• Clean driving record per DOT standards.
• Must be DOT Clearinghouse compliant.

Responsibilities

• Safely delivery of loads to customers with timeliness and accuracy.
• Transport loaded and empty trailers to distribution centers and points-to-points during night shifts.
• Coordinate with dispatcher for assignments and on-time performance.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and document results.
• Maintain equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
