Job summary

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Building Engineer at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum account in Washington, DC. This role monitors major mechanical systems and responds to fire alarms, coordinating with local fire authorities.

It requires clear communication and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The schedule is Wednesday–Saturday, 12:00 AM–10:00 AM. The position is covered by Local 99.

Qualifications

• DC 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial or government facilities.
• OSHA 10 General Safety and Health training required.
• Ability to work Wed–Sat 12a–10a shift.

Responsibilities

• Monitors BAS and records unusual events in the logbook.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates with management.
• Maintains HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
• Reads blueprints and system data to troubleshoot components.
• Operates and tests equipment; starts and adjusts components.
• Follows safety protocols and completes preventive maintenance.
