Job summary

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a part-time Building Engineer for the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum account in Washington, DC. The role monitors all major mechanical systems, responds to fire alarms, and assists the Fire Department.

The position requires strong communication and operational knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, following the Local 99 CBA. Work schedule is Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with duties including BAS monitoring, log maintenance,

Qualifications

  • Must have OSHA 10 General Safety and Health training (provided by EMCOR).
  • Must hold Washington DC 3rd Class Stationary Engineer License.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial or government facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor major mechanical systems via BAS and log events.
  • Respond to fire alarms and assist Fire Department as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Record readings and maintain logs; operate BAS and related equipment.
  • Install, service, and maintain environmental control systems and components.
  • Work schedule: Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.
