Job summary

RRD is seeking a 3rd shift Bindery Operator to set up and operate a range of bindery machines, ensuring quality and productivity across production lines. You will coordinate staff, monitor outputs, and handle equipment adjustments to deliver finished books, catalogs, and printed materials.

The role requires reading work orders, precise measurements, and knowledge of various bindery equipment. Shift runs 7:00 PM–5:00 AM, with a $2/hr differential and total compensation considerations.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work orders for bindery specs.
• Able to calculate distances and fits for machines.
• Ability to set up and adjust bindery equipment precisely.
• Knowledge of paper stock types and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery machines and attachments (inkjet, mailing devices, case making, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing).
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and performance.
• Operate automatic bindery machines with multiple functions to produce finished books, catalogs, manuals, etc.
• Coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine and direct crew.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity.
