Job summary

RRD, located in Timonium, MD, seeks a seasoned Bindery Operator for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM). You will set up and operate a range of bindery machines, supervise a crew, and monitor quality and productivity to deliver finished books, catalogs, and magazines.

The role requires familiarity with paper weights and dimensions, strong math skills, and precise operation of equipment. Overtime and shift differential may apply.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with different paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors to identify paper conditions.
• Familiarity with basic mathematics to understand dimensional requirements and adjust machines.
• Ability to read and interpret written work with machine operation sequences.
• Knowledge of operating procedures for bindery equipment (folders, cutters, collators, stitchers).
• Understanding set up and adjustment of equipment to produce finished materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery machines with multiple heads and attachments.
• May operate auto bindery machines with power cutters, collators and folders.
• Inspect equipment for safety and perform adjustments as needed.
• Direct crew through production from setup to finished product.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity of bindery processes.
