Job summary

Laboratory Sciences of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, is seeking an AP Laboratory Technician to receive specimens, prepare samples for testing, and perform waived testing under CLIA guidelines. You will support histology operations, ensure workflow continuity, and train new staff.

Under supervision, perform waived and moderately complex tests, participate in QC/QA, and assist the pathology section. The role may involve training others and collaborating with a pathologist.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree or a Bachelor’s degree with Anatomic Pathology certification within 6 months of hire.
• Willing to cross-train in all areas of the Anatomic Pathology section and demonstrate competency.
• Must have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive biological specimens and process for analysis.
• Prepare samples for analytical testing and perform waived testing.
• Assist in histology operations, train new employees, and maintain QA/QC procedures.
• Perform duties under supervision of a Pathologist or supervisor and support daily workflow.
