Job summary

Laboratory Sciences of Arizona in Phoenix is seeking an entry- to mid-level laboratory professional to join our Anatomic Pathology team. The role focuses on receiving specimens, preparing samples for testing, and performing waived tests under CLIA guidelines.

This position reports to the department supervisor and may train others as needed. You will work within Histology and Surgical Pathology, liaising with internal staff and external customers while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in testing.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma.
• Must be able to multi task/cross train in all areas of the Anatomic Pathology section.
• Must have highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills and basic computer skills are required.
• Good reading, writing, and math skills are also required.

Responsibilities

• Receive biological specimens into the department and prepare samples for analytical testing.
• Perform waived testing and assist with moderately complex tests as defined by CLIA ’88 under supervision.
• May train employees on basic entry level tasks and perform QC/QA duties.
• Serve as a resource within Histology and Surgical Pathology departments and coordinate with internal staff and outside customers as needed.
