Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Anatomic Pathology lab technician to receive, examine and process specimens, prepare samples for testing, and perform waived testing. The role supports the histology section under supervision and may train staff while ensuring QA/QC.

Qualifications include an Associate’s degree with ASCP HT eligibility or a Bachelor’s with pathology certification, and strong interpersonal skills. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree and be eligible for ASCP HT registry OR ASCP HT registry OR a Bachelor’s degree with Anatomic Pathology departmental-specific certification documentation within 6 months of hire date.
• Must be willing to perform/cross train in all areas of the Anatomic Pathology section and have demonstrated competency in all aspects of work.
• Must have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, examine and process pathology specimens.
• Prepare samples for analytical testing and perform waived testing.
• Assist supervisor and coordinator in operations, training and QA/QC tasks.
• Maintain quality control and procedure manuals.
• May perform highly complex testing under general supervision.
