Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories / Laboratory Sciences of Arizona is seeking a laboratory technician to support the receipt of specimens, prepare samples for testing, and perform waived testing in the Anatomic Pathology-Ref Lab in Phoenix, AZ.

The role includes performing waived and moderately complex tests under CLIA guidelines, contributing to QC/QA activities, and training entry-level staff while coordinating with internal teams and external customers as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma.
• Must have highly developed interpersonal skills. Good organizational skills and basic computer skills are required.
• Good reading, writing, and math skills are also required.

Responsibilities

• Receive biological specimens into the department and prepare samples for analytical testing.
• Perform waived testing and, as needed, moderately complex tests under CLIA ’88 guidelines.
• Assist with QC/QA duties and training of entry-level staff.
• May provide direction from higher level technical personnel and serve as a resource.
