Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Lab Technician to receive specimens, prepare samples for analysis, and perform waived testing.

Under supervision, may train staff, support QA/QC systems, and assist with routine workflow in the histology section; reports to supervisor.

Requires Associate's or Bachelor's with certification; strong attention to detail, good communication, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with Anatomic Pathology certification within 6 months.
• Eligible for ASCP HT registry or already registered.
• Willingness to cross-train in all Anatomic Pathology areas.

Responsibilities

• Receive, examine and process pathology specimens.
• Perform waived and moderately complex tests per CLIA guidelines.
• Provide guidance in supervisor's absence and support QA/QC activities.
• Train new employees on basic entry level tasks.
