Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a Full Time Nursing Station Clerk to support the NICU at Aultman, handling clerical and receptionist tasks and maintaining the nursing station environment. The role involves charting, order transcription, and coordination with multiple departments and external agencies.

The position requires a High School diploma, Heartsaver AED within 90 days, and strong communication and organizational skills. Onsite weekday schedule with weekend/holiday rotation is included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Heartsaver AED certification required within 90 days of employment.
• No prior experience required.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs record organization and transcription of orders by completing necessary forms and requisitions.
• Maintains and assembles charts and other nursing station records.
• Assists in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating activities in the nursing station.
• Performs clerical and receptionist duties using multiple phone and computer applications; coordinates with other departments and outside agencies.
• Maintains the physical environment of the nursing station.
• Orders office supplies and replacement equipment; enters help desk tickets for IS/maintenance.
• Responds to patient and family inquiries professionally; coordinates interpreter services as needed.
• Staff may be assigned to other Akron Children's Hospital areas as needed.
• Other duties as required.
