Job summary

The RN inpatient Nurse at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA, provides direct patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The role requires assessing health problems, developing care plans, and maintaining records for newborns and infants.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, active RN license in PA, and BLS; ACLS within 6 months of hire. This full-time, 0.90 FTE position offers day shifts and every third weekend.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Six (6) months RN experience required.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS required prior to orientation completion. Must be obtained through Penn State Health or American Heart Association (AHA).
• ACLS required on within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The RN inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.
• The inpatient Registered Nurse administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
• The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects.
• The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
