Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the NICU to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care. The role emphasizes patient and family education, mentoring, and adherence to ANA standards in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, NRP as required for NICU.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care and pursue ongoing learning from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice while embodying Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties to maximize efficiency.
• Develop a care plan according to patient population and conditions.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounds from patient and family perspectives.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based changes.
