Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our NICU department. You will educate patients and families, model best practices for Level I nurses, and support care with evidence-based nursing care in a faith-based, mission-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has an accredited nursing program degree, Maryland RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of RN experience, with NICU experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• NICU experience strongly preferred.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active BLS certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by NICU.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing duties appropriately.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice.
