Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Nursing team in the Stead Family Children's Hospital NICU. This 90% night shift role involves direct patient care under supervision, vital signs monitoring, and assistance with admissions, transfers and discharges.

Responsibilities include hygiene support, patient mobility, transport, and aiding with feeding and intake recording.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Assist with patient admission, transfers and discharges.
• Provide for patients' personal hygiene and comfort.
• Turn, position and ambulate patients.
• Transport patients, equipment, specimens and supplies.
• Assist with feeding and ensuring patient hydration.
