Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Clinical Technician I to support the Nursing team under RN supervision at UI Health Care in Iowa City. This is a full-time role with evening and night shifts, 3:00 pm–7:30 am, and weekend/holiday rotations. You will assist with admissions/transfers, monitor patient status, document procedures, and help educate patients and families.

One year of direct patient care experience is required. Background check and references may be requested.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of health care experience involving direct patient care.
• Must be capable of working evening/night shifts and weekends.
• Successful candidates will undergo background check and references.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient admission, transfer and discharge.
• Observes patient condition and notifies RN of changes.
• Documents information obtained during tests/procedures.
• Maintains a safe environment and follows standard precautions.
• Supports education of patients and families.
• Participates in unit staff meetings and inservices.
• Collaborates with team to ensure quality patient care.
