University of Iowa Health Care’s downtown campus is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist nursing staff in inpatient and outpatient care areas. The role focuses on delivering patient care under direct supervision, with emphasis on vital signs and routine nursing tasks.

The part-time position operates 12-hour shifts (1830-0700) on Saturdays and Sundays, with shift differentials for evenings and nights.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate with patients and health care staff.

Responsabilités

• Independently record vital signs and document results.
• Assist with phlebotomy, Foley catheter removal, and other nursing tasks.
• Support patient admission, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide patient comfort and hygiene; assist with mobility and positioning.
• Transport patients and supplies; stock rooms and equipment.
