Job summary

Louisiana State University (LSU) seeks a Licensed Fire Sprinkler Inspector/Technician to inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and suppression systems across the Baton Rouge campus. The role ensures safety, code compliance, and operational readiness while documenting results and coordinating corrective actions with campus staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and documenting commercial water-based fire protection systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR/drug screens per policy.
• Experience with NFPA 25 and applicable state/local codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and related systems per NFPA standards and codes.
• Coordinate inspections, acceptance testing, and corrective actions with facilities, contractors, and authorities.
• Document inspection results and maintain deficiency logs using CMMS and inspection software.
